Another reason why to move on from 2009..
In the eyes of many, 2009 was a year to forget. It was a year marked by the GFC (global financial crisis), the death of Michael Jackson and the H1N1 'Swine Flu' Pandemic. When we look back at 2009, it was also a year of some fashion tragedies – here are some top things NOT to release as a budding fashion designer no matter how famous you are – and not to buy if you want to be a fashionisto.
1) Pengiuns are cool – but not to wear…
Respected European fashion designer
Raf Simons got it all wrong in 09 with the release of his neoprene fabric sleaving on men's suits. No one wants to look like a pengiun or clown – avoid neoprene unless your going surfing or diving – its not for the dinner table.

2) Silk shirting and pants – the shiny stuff isn't for men
Unless your a horse-racing jockey or trying to dress up as a genie, silk or any shiny fabric is a definate no. Need we say more?

3) The homeless look – Paying to be poor doesn't make sense
There were quite a few examples of this 'look' for 2009, however we believe British fashion designer Alexander McQueen and Damir Doma deserve the dong for this one.

Note – The opinions expressed are our own – we respect each and every designer but believe these items were a bit 'wrong'. Just our opinion…Images are from Oki Ni – a retailer we truly respect for its fantastic range of mens clothing. Please check them out.
