THE THING WITH DREAMS IS, WHEN YOU REALLY WANT THEM TO HAPPEN, THEY CAN COME TRUE. BUT YOU DO HAVE TO WORK ON THEM AND SOMETIMES YOU FIND THE OUTCOME IN THE MOST UNEXPECTED PLACES OR SITUATIONS. BUT IT MUST BE NICE, WHEN YOU ARE OLDER, TO LOOK BACK ON A LIFE BUILT ON THE DREAMS YOU HAD WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER. TO REALIZE YOU DID IT ALL.
Thomas Synnamon always had a passion for photography but never had any formal training. Finally, after dreaming of performing the craft, he picked up a camera for the first time in 2007 and hasn't been able to put it back down ever since. Now, barely 3 year after, he can already look back upon a most impressive portfolio containing some of the most beautiful men from New York and beyond, numerous publications, exhibitions and a recent successful first book release Sleepless. Yes, Thomas Synnamon certainly is living his dream and is enjoying every second of it.
Eddie Martinez is one of Thomas' discoveries and – let's face it – he is a dream by himself. 23-Years old Eddie is of Puerto Rican blood but was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Eddie graduated from Murry Bergtraum High School before enrolling at Long Island University where he studied for 2 years. That is when he decided to start living his dreams, and his first goal was to move south. Without having a clear destination in mind, Eddie Martinez left New York City and eventually ended up settling down in the southern city of New Orleans.
While still at school, Eddie Martinez was a passionate runner, a sport he practiced for 6 years in a row until a nasty injury made an end to that dream. Forced to refocus he put his athletic well built body on a different track, and even though he never had given modeling any thought, he now found that this was something in which he could express himself. One thing led to another and Eddie slowly started to dream of a life that would not only include modeling, but also opens the possibility for acting. Life thought Eddie that dreaming alone doesn't help you to get ahead, and so he pursues his career step by step, learning the different disciplines on the way.
At one point in his life Eddie's dream was to make it to the Olympics. As said before, an injury ended that prematurely, but, fighter and creative as he is, Eddie refused to completely give if on his sportive ambition. He channeled his passion in another direction and created a new dream for himself. That of being an athletic trainer for a track and field team. But whatever the future has in store for him, all Eddie really wants is to succeed in what he does and become a better human being.
New Orleans is not Eddie's final stop. It is merely a place to get his feet on the ground and build his foundation for life. Working with Thomas Synnamon was a new experience for Eddie. It opened his eyes in what his possibilities are in modeling and in life and made him realize it would be good to focus on one aspect of the art. His primary goal now is to focus on fashion modeling with physiques as a good second, hoping to land a big national or international campaign. He also tried his own luck with photography, which made him dream of bigger projects, like directing films. At 23 Eddie has many dreams and many options, which much to learn. But he is up for the challenge. But one dream has already been fulfilled. Because in New Orleans, Eddie has found love. –B-
