DAVID'S LEONARDO

HIS FAVORITE COLOUR IS BLACK. HE LIKES MEAT, HIS FAVORITE ACTOR IS COLIN FARRELL AND  HE LIKES UNDERWEAR. HIS NAME SUGGEST HE IS FROM EXOTIC, MEDITERRANEAN ORIGIN AND HIS DARK LOOK ONLY SEEMS TO CONFIRM THAT. INTRIGUED? WE WERE WHEN DAVID VANCE SEND US AN EMAIL WITH SOME THUMBNAILS OF HIS LEONARDO.

Recently we received an email from photographer David Vance with quite some sample photos and one simple question: "Wondering if you have any interest in Leonardo?" Wondering is we have any interest in Leonardo? Well, what do you think? Could we possibly have said no?

At age 21 Leonardo Javier Corredor Duque is hard on his way to become a renowned model and actor. He only measure 5'11 which is rather small for runway shows in our hemisphere, but Leonardo scored high in shows held in Venezuela, the Philippines, Miami and the Fashion Week in Hong kong. The designers he worked with are too many to list, but among them we find Giovanni Scutaro, Carlos Benguigui, Mayela Camacho and Gabriela Chacon to name but a few. Besides modeling Leonardo presently also hosts a TV show and once the season is over he tends to pack his bags and move to L.A., trying to find more on-camera work.

Leonardo Corredor was born in Arkansas, USA, but his looks and name already suggest his origin is much more exotic than that. Leonardo's family originates from Venezuela and at early age that is where he moved to. He spent his childhood years in a Small town called Merida but moved to Caracas at age 13. All by himself. Young as he was, Leonardo knew what he wanted to do: become a singer. And so, while still being at school, he joined the band Salserin 13. One thing lead to another and Leonardo soon landed some acting gigs. All these jobs at such early age made him grow up fast and allowed him to focus on things that are far from the usual importancies in the life of a guy his age. His first real photo shoot took place at age 16, and one year later Leonardo became a national celebrity winning the 2007 Venezuela Modeling contest. Not long after that Leonardo left his heritage country and moved back to the USA where he now resides in Miami. 

Leonardo has his mind set on an international career. Both in acting and modeling. To reach that goal in modeling he is aiming at big fashion names, such as D&G, Cavalli, Armani. And because he knows how important it is to be seen to make it, he makes sure he Works with the best photographers to enrich his portfolio. Such as David Vance. Besides being a successful advertising photographer David is also well represented in many global publications and has worked with many international celebrities. Like Leonardo, David Vance has a Latin background. In his case Italian, and that comes with a culture that clearly influences his fantastic work.

David treats each portrait as if it was a classic sculpture, and we can't help but getting the feeling there is something historical about the fact David created his Leonardo. The names, even though historically not correct, just seem to much linked to art and beauty. David Vance is currently working on a book publication, named Erotic Dreams of which Leonardo also will be a part. And if these photos indicate anything about the content of Erotic Dreams, we can't wait to see the end result. –B-
