WHO COULD EVER HAVE THOUGHT WHEN THE FIRST HARRY POTTER FILM WAS RELEASED IN 2001, THE SUCCESS WOULD BE SO BIG THAT THE SERIES NOW WILL GO IN HISTORY AS HIGHEST GROSSING FILM SERIES OF ALL TIME. CERTAINLY NOT WRITER J.K.ROWLING, BECAUSE IF SHE HAD SHE SURELY WOULD HAVE NEGOTIATED A HIGHER SHARE IN THE PROFITS. 2009 WILL KNOW THE RELEASE OF THE 6TH AND FOR-LAST INSTALLMENT OF THE HARRY POTTER SEQUEL, HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE.
Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizzarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that danger may even lie within the castle, but Dumblemore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort's defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unexpected bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information.
Meanwhile the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rages across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn towards Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn't counted on Romilda Vane's chocolates! And then there's Hermione, simmering with jealousy but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one students stays aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the 6th installment of the harry Potter film series and as we probably the darkest one this far. David Yates, who directed the 2007 blockbuster Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, is responsible for another dose of magic and wizardy and has created a film that doesn't look anything less than any super hero movie we have seen over the past years. The film will be followed by the last sequel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which – Harry Potter fans, pay attention – will be released in two separate parts: the first part is due for release on 19 November 2010, the second part on 15 July 2011.
Once again heading the cast, David Rathcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson reprise their roles as young wizards Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, who are facing new challenges and dangers in the wake of Lord Voldemort's return. They are reunited with returning cast members, including Helena Bonham Carter, David Bradley, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis, Tom Felton, Michal Gambon, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Natalia Tena, Julie Walters and Davis Thewliss, as well as Evanna Lynch, Matthew Lewis and Bonnie Wright. On top, this sixth Harry Potter film introduces two award-winning actors to join the film's all-star cast: Jim Broadbent and Helen McCrory.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures on July 15, 2009. –B-
